Samuels
and Mossons
1860 - c. 1877

Also known as City Brewery, Frederick W. Sutor opened the brewery
in 1874 at Live Oak (2nd) and Guadaupe, diagonally across from where Jean
Schneider had planned his brewery in 1860. (The offices of the City
of Austin are there now.) A city fire map of 1877 shows the corner, and
labels the buildings as City Brewery, suggests that the brewery was still
active in 1877.
